Top rock is a preamble to a breakdancing set. The song break is going to hit. You get a rush and it’s your top rock that warns the crowd as you skillfully open up a hole. The elation you feel, body tightening and your senses narrowing as you set to your task. First the top rock, then the groundwork, followed up by a power move. There are freezes, transitions, tricks and flips sprinkled throughout a routine.Thats what a break dancer does.
The cardboard tree, For the fall festival. The living room has been temporary turned into a workshop. Stacks of cardboard, boxes of hot glue and sharp things. The eight foot tree is going to Oscars school for there annual “Fall Fesival”. I was a great time, thank you for the great event. Below are some build pictures.
My sister Susan was in town for the holidays and made a gang of elephants with the boys. Below are some of the wire zoo residents. Neat stuff wire and elbow grease, Oscar, Damien and Susan Rock. The boys wanted baby versions of all the animals, that’s why there are so many elephants, it took a minute to make them tiny.
Oscar draws a bunch of squids. Chalk drawings in the street with the neighbors. 8 kids running around with chalk and bikes. It was super fun to watch Oscar rocking his squids.
Afternoon project with TATA: On a rainy afternoon they make monsters out of play-dough and colored toothpicks. The stories they come up about them are awesome I wished I had written it down. The monsters have been living on a “drying” shelf for months and I was going to toss them out during a “people are coming over” cleaning, but I stopped and took some pictures first. I hope the boys, in time, learn to forgive me for tossing them out. 😉 Monster 001: Monster 002: Monster 003:
