‘Sniffing Is The New Hand Shake’, 5″x7″, collage, by Alex Feliciano
Alex starts with geometric patterns of color paper. Combining, cutting and patterning happens and pieces start to emerge. Those pieces give rise to a subjects that are cut and painted, a few rabbits, dogs, birds, beards, a dozen eyes, noses, hands, heads, lips, teeth, and hair styles. They are ready to be mixed and detailed with paint and ink. The pieces are embellishes, layered, and sealed on to a block of birch wood.

‘Sniffing Is The New Hand Shake’ is No. 6 in a series of 16 original works, approximately 5×7 inches, created on wood by Alex Feliciano. Each layer is built with hand cut paper that is embellished with drawing and painting. Then sealed before the next layer is added. The sandwich style invites the viewer glimpse the layers and perceive the depth.
