The street art class is winding down.
The five week long street art class has hit class number five and number five was so fun, it started out as a lesson on stencils and evolved into a wrapping paper making project. The session ended so well we are adding one more class (a sixth week). Great work everyone!
Everyone really pushed and got their hand dirty.
Detail, an orange snowflake under a gold start, hiding behind a green tree, that was run over by a candy cane. lots of stencilling action going on here.
The Montana water based paints worked great, Thanks the paint yard for the recommendations and paint sales and a big shout out to Sis & Moons making it possible.
Some great color sections popped out of the lesson, everyone was so busy working we didn’t find them till I was cleaning up.
The stencils that survived.
40 feet hung to dry.
More stencils, hung flat to dry, they will be tasty and stiff when they dry.
Look for fancy wrapped present under a tree near you.
Watch some short video and have any questions ready to discuss, and Patterns
The Letter “E”: https://youtu.be/kpaVkxB0Tw4
Watching a piece from start to finish: https://youtu.be/3US_fm0sWHo
Find examples of patterns, bring 3 or more, for use in next piece (They can be anything… save them to your device, print, magazine tear out or photos).
Sketch book 11″ × 8½”, a black book with smooth pages. Like this available where ever you like to by supplies.
Markers, I had some questions about markers. So you can find Touch and Copic Markers at at DickBlick in Roswell or you can shop Amazon/Google for ‘touch’ markers, most kits are no cheaper online, But if your willing to take delivery from China and wait weeks for delivery you can find some good deals..
Comparing and Contrasting
Lastly we will be looking at two different artist who approach street art from two different styles we will be comparing and contrasting in and short critique.
Rasterm and Katre

Last night the Alpharetta Figure Drawing/Painting Group put on their bi-monthly drawing event. Kate pulled off some great poses. Food was … Oreos and Doritos.
The group offers a casual night of figure art drawing and painting. Great comfortable location for you to draw the model we provide. The session begins with several short poses to warm up before progressing through longer and longer poses throughout the night. There are limited spots, join the facebook group, available so please reserve yours as early as possible.
The group provides: Location, Lighting, Model, Props, and More
What you bring: Yourself and your art supplies. Food, drink, and alcohol are all allowed so please feel free to bring a snack if you want.
I love looking at the 1 minute sketches.
Kate is back, trying again with red pencil. Fat lines are kinda working. I bought a bunch of markers and pencil to try out, But I think I like the red pencil best. For more sketches join/follow me.
Information about the Drawing event, more info.
The day has come, halloween is here, and all this work is worth it. Gio has his afro cardboard frankenstein, Oscar is rocking a full cardboard Pokemon Charizard, Damien is welding a pair of custom cardboard katanas, and Alex is suited up as a cardboard bear.
This is a shot of the Bear at work, before the Costume contest, second place!
Don’t Shoot, I did not take the Picnic baskets and I am not a zombie.
Pushing hard towards halloween, flowing with Cardboard and Hot Glue, here is a picture of the Bear Head. You can check out earlier pics here. I’m happy with the head, I will be starting the suit next. Worried about the paint job, cardboard nude or custom paintjob?
After halloween I will get back to the Clem Heads.
Adding lots of detail, looking for the feeling of fur.
I’ve never built a bear head before. but i have always wanted to build a large animal costume. Alex Feliciano, ” I might make it in time for halloween”. We will see.
I really like this view. I think about painting it and wonder how to go about it, I have lots of crazy sketches and this dog head from a few years back.
More ‘Clem Head’ doodles this weekend. I’m using lots of pink, coral and magenta it just keeps happening. I went to 1shot‘s web site (below) they have all the colors I need. I was worried… “How I’m gonna mix that color”.
I don’t know if i can go full plaid, maybe if I had this machine. I might try to replicate this ‘water transfer printing technique’ with one of the Clem heads, thin paint and a bucket.
Stole this off 1shot.com‘s site. I think I can find the colors I need.
